About our Skating
In normal times, we run public skating sessions at weekends and in the holidays, for families and friends, or to practice your skills. We also run skating parties, skating lessons and adult skate discos. Skating is a great way to keep fit and have fun! From Monday April 12th 2021 we will be able to open for single households / bubbles to skate at the centre.
Skate hire is included in the price, and we have skates to fit from junior size 8 to adult size 14, with over shoe skates for younger children. We have beginner mats out to help people get going on a slower surface, and/or disco lights and music for a party feel.
We welcome people of all skating abilities, and there is often a volunteer around who can give you a few tips to get going.
Once restrictions ease, we will be opening our newly refurbished cafe for drinks, snacks and food during skating sessions.
Private hire skating
Due to the huge demand we had for private hire times in December, we have decided to split the hall into 1/3 and 2/3 with the thick black curtain. In normal times, we had a limit of 50 skaters in the whole hall, so there is plenty of space in either of the 2 parts for a single household. We recommend good skaters or larger bubbles hire 2/3 hall, intermediate skaters 1/3 and beginners the small room. The small room has a slower surface so your skates don’t run away with you, and a rail around the edge for support.
We are currently only able to take bookings for private hire skating for people from the same household or bubble.
You can also use this space for scooters, go-karts, hoverboards or any other activity – it’s yours for the hour.
