Penistone Leisure Centre has undergone extensive renovations and is now fully accessible with a light and bright atmosphere! Find out more about our facilities and how to hire them below.
The Main Hall
Our 290m2 Main Hall is a versatile space, which can be used as a whole, or divided into 1/3 and 2/3 spaces by an acoustic curtain to allow two activities to take place simultaneously. The Main Hall has energy efficient LED Lighting and also disco lights for parties/roller disco/classes. There are large space heaters in each part of the hall and a sound system which can be controlled from the Skate Store.
You can come to a variety of classes in the main hall, from Circuits to Boogie Bounce (on mini trampolines), Clubbercise to Kettlebells and kid’s Karate. To see all of our classes and how to book, go to the Classes Page.
We have public skating sessions and you can also hire 1/3 or 2/3 of the hall (or the studio/cafe) for your family and friends. See our Skating Page.
The Main Hall can be hired for Classes, Roller Skating, Badminton, Parties, 5-a-side, Nerf, Boccia, anything you can think of really! We have Cricket Nets, which can be used for indoor batting/bowling practice.

The Studio/Café is a light and bright multifunctional space with lots of windows and double doors which open out onto a small patio.
We use it as a Café during roller skating sessions, and for other sessions like our Board Games Café and social sessions. The room benefits from viewing windows between the Cafe and the main hall, so it’s ideal for having a coffee and a chat with a friend whilst your child(ren) rollerskate.
The Studio is also suitable for smaller classes such as Baby Massage, Tai Chi and as a space for activities like table tennis. It has a firm rubber floor and plenty of radiators
