We want to know – what do YOU want?

October 4, 2018 Leave a Comment

Your leisure centre is planning a £300,000 refurbishment – and we went to know what you need and want to be included in that.

Around 7,500 questionnaire sheets have been sent out asking people what they would like to see in a refurbished leisure centre and a host of other questions about what activities you already do and would like to do. Your answers will help us make the best choices in what we put into the new look centre.

Thank you to the local Liberal Democrats have helped the centre by delivering the survey to local homes with their news letter. The survey is just for the centre – to help the centre trustees put together bids to make using the centre a better experience.

Among our plans are better toilets and changing facilities, a bigger kitchen and café, with viewing facilities for sports hall sessions and lots more improvements.

You can take a look at current plans in the reception area at the centre. Some structural and practical things must be done, like work on the roof. But with your information the future activities at the centre can be organised around what local people want and need – such as groups for older residents and parent and toddler activities, or more sessions for teenagers.

Even if you haven’t received as survey in the post we would still like to hear from you – there is a limit to how far we can distribute the survey physically but the online version is on our website.

Get your surveys in before the end of the month to really make your voice count towards what happens here at the centre.

Fill out your survey and either post it back to us, deliver it by hand to the centre on Thurlstone Road,  or submit a survey online here and it will come back to us digitally.
