Do you want to help us plan the way forward, so we can do the best for our community? The trustees are local people who have big ideas and make the decisions about how everything at the centre happens.

One of our Trustees, Kirsty Salmon has come to the end of her 3 year stint with us and is moving on to other things.

Kirsty has been a huge part of the team at Penistone Leisure Centre, bringing her efficiency to the role of secretary and keeping us organised. Kirsty has done our payroll for years and helped with finances. She has been one of the main organisers of many events like the Summer Fair, several Halloween and Christmas parties and a lot of holiday activities as well as running skating sessions.

We have hugely valued her support, ideas and all her hard work and will miss her hugely. We wish her well in everything she goes on to do!

…and as a little add-on – does anyone out there feel like a new challenge? Kirsty was one of the many people who started as a centre user, became a volunteer and ended up as a Trustee. If you could help us with any part of what Kirsty did, we’d love to hear from you!

More Trustees needed!

As you know, Penistone Leisure Centre is run by volunteers – and that includes managing it. There are 7 Trustees already – Martyn, Amanda, Eric, Jon, Bevan, Andy and Rachel. However, there is always lots to do and we would like to recruit one or two more people who have a little spare time and would like to help us out.

Everyone has something they can offer – some Trustees give a little time each week to organise something regular. Others take on an occasional bigger job like a funding application, project or practical job. Maybe you can think of just what we need to make the centre run even better. Or maybe you would like to come along and just see what things you could help with?

Penistone Leisure Centre is run for the community by the community and we welcome anyone who wants to get involved. Please talk to any of the Trustees if you are interested, or email us.
