Summer Activities at PLC

With the Summer holidays fast approaching we have some super Summer activities to keep everyone busy!

  • Public skating will be running weekdays as well as weekends ( only £3.50pp including equipment hire )
  • A Giant Wordsearch planned to get everyone outside – this will be running all Summer
  • Mini and a Mega Treasure Hunt around the Penistone area ( click the link below to see more info )
  • The Active Club bringing activities throughout the week to keep everybody fit and ‘active’ over the Summer months!

As a yummy treat, the cafe will be hosting a number of biscuit decorating sessions over the holidays… keep an eye out for more info…it’s sure to be delicious!

We have even thought about all those constant rumbling tummies over the holidays… we have our brilliant @thehubcommunitycafe making picnic lunches for your trips out! Kids £2.50 | Adults £5 – available to pre-order from the cafe on a Tuesday 9am – 4pm , Friday 9am – 4pm and Saturday 9am -1pm.

We also always have our board games in cafe if the weather is slightly damp! #yourcommunityspace

If you have any parties or get-togethers coming up over the holidays – why not have a small skate party with us! Running alongside public skating and is perfect for
a party over the Summer months. More information here.

Holiday Activities

Kids Creative Art Session

We have a fab session planned for you creative kids on Thursday 22nd August 2019 from 10:30am-12 noon!

In this session you will use different artistic methods such as stamping, wax resists, inks, acrylics and collage to produce beautiful jungle themed artworks! A perfect session to keep those creative kids inspired for the summer holidays.

Class cost £8 per child and is suitable for ages 7-11. Price includes all materials, but please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

Alterations to Classes over the Summer Break.

A few of our classes are making alterations to their schedules over the summer holidays!

  • Clubbercise– Kelly is taking a break throughout August, so there will be NO Clubbercise classes through August. Back to normal in September!
  • PenActive– There are no PenActive Sessions now until September to allow time for the childrens skating sessions through the summer.
  • Squats with Tots– Are running limited dates over the summer to allow for holidays- classes are on 23rd July, 6th Aug, 13th Aug and then they are back to normal from 3rd Sept with the school term. If you are bringing children to the above dates, please could you confirm with Becca (on 07446873815) their ages, so that she can bring age appropriate crafts for them to do whilst you get your workout in!
  • Yoga– From 29th July- September 2019 Eva is only running ONE yoga class instead of the usual two on Mondays evenings from 7-8pm
  • Walking Netball– Walking Netball is taking a break over the summer holidays and restarts on Friday 6th September.

Remember we have EXTRA GYM SESSIONS throughout summer whilst ever there is a public skating session on. So that means extra Gym Sessions on Mondays-Fridays 2-4pm (please note that the regular Wednesday Gym session 4-6pm moves to 2-4pm through the summer holidays).

Nerf-Lovers Assemble!

We have TWO Nerf sessions for you this summer holidays! One is aimed at younger children- aged 5-8 on Friday 2nd August and one for the older kids- aged 7-11 on Friday 23rd August.

Nerf Skirmish is a fun game of capture the flag, with Nerf guns! Tickets cost £8 per child.

Safety equipment is included and the game is marshalled to ensure that everyone has a fun time!

If you don’t have your own Nerf gun, then don’t worry, you can hire ours for £2 extra on the day.

Perfect your Ping Pong Performance…

… At Penistone Leisure Centre! We have professional Table Tennis Coach Shaun joining us on Wednesday 21st August 2019 from 11am-1pm to help you up your game!

This session is suitable for adults and/or children, and you don’t need to come with a partner! So, if you fancy this session, then book your place now! It’s £8 for a 2 hour session and there won’t be more than 2 players to a table. There’s plenty of time to get some top tips from a professional.

This session was popular last time we ran it, so please book early to avoid disappointment. You can book your space(s) on the session HERE.
