Skating Is Back!

We’re delighted to say that public roller skating sessions are back! We have had to make alterations to ensure we can be ‘covid safe’ but are delighted to say we are running our first sessions this week! Skating sessions MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE VIA OUR WEBSITE. There will be strictly no walk-ins available on the day.

Public skating sessions are available-

Wednesday 19th August at 10:30am-12noon OR 12:30-2pm
Thursday 12:30-2pm
Friday 21st August at 10:30am-12noon OR 12:30-2pm

Places are limited to 20 per session INCLUDING spectators (so please book places for non-skaters too using the form, so that we can cap numbers to allow social distancing). We would appreciate it if you are able to limit it to one non-skating adult per family group. We are putting on two sessions each on Wed and Fri this week so that as many people can come as possible! We will be releasing more dates soon.

Please familiarise the Covid Guidelines on the skating booking page. We will be maintaining strict social distancing and doing extra cleaning to keep everyone safe.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE LEISURE CENTRE IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS DISPLAYING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, OR AWAITING THE RESULTS OF A COVID-TEST.

Skating is still £3pp including skate hire if needed! Please SHARE this post to help us get word out!

We will also be releasing dates for Private Hire of the hall for Skating, Table Tennis, Badminton etc shortly. This is an ideal option if you are shielding and want to limit contact with other people! Watch this space!

It’s Nearly Adult Skate Time!

It’s nearly Adult Skate Disco time again! So line up the babysitter, and cut loose at Penistone Leisure Centre!

Join us for loud retro music, tuckshop, disco lights and laughs! We host our Adult Skate Disco on the second Saturday of every month- so that’ the 13th of April this time! Skating starts at 7:30-10pm and costs just £5, which includes Skate Hire if you need it. We have Quads and Blades in sizes up to adult size 14, so should have some to fit everyone!

Adult Skate Disco this Saturday!

It’s nearly that time again! Put on those skates, and get ready to party to our retro tunes.

It’s this Saturday the 9th March at 7:30-10pm. The price is just £4 per skater which includes skate hire if required (we have all sizes, up to adult size 14) and the tuck shop will be serving drinks and snacks throughout the evening.

Tag the friend you want to come and skate with! We’ll see you there!

You can still skate at our regular sessions on Wednesday after school 4-5:45pm and at weekends Saturday 12-2pm and Sunday 10-12pm.

We are getting organised now for the Easter Holidays! Do you think you have a couple of hours to spare across the holiday to help to staff a session?

Holiday Skate is a Huge Success!

The Leisure Centre has been positively jumping with customers this half term! We have nearly been at capacity for the afternoon skating sessions every day so far in the holidays, which has made us think about the next holidays- Easter!

We’d absolutely love to be able to offer more skating sessions throughout the holidays! In order for this to happen, we need more Volunteers to to run these sessions. Can you help?

Sessions are two hours long and volunteering would involve signing people in/handing out skates or running our tuck shop! You don’t need to have any qualifications to help, and in return your children can skate for free at any session you volunteer in. You don’t have to commit to a regular spot if you don’t feel you can- odd sessions here and there are also a big help to us!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your local area and to help us to succeed. We are afterall, run by the community, for the community!
