public health

Corona Virus/Covid 19

13/03/2020 by Frances Greenwood Leave a Comment

We take health very seriously at Penistone Leisure Centre, and have been keeping a close eye on government advice around the current situation with Corona Virus.

At the moment we are not taking any drastic actions, such as cancelling classes or closing the centre (we will follow advice from the government around this) . However we are asking that if you feel unwell, please DO NOT attend the centre for at least 7 days- the same applies to staff and volunteers too. If you have a high temperature, or a new persistent dry cough, please do not attend the centre. This is vital to protect yourself and others.

Along with government guidelines, we advise increased hand washing (when you arrive at the centre, before you eat, and before you leave the centre) and coughing/sneezing into a tissue if you need to.

(As always) There will be disinfectant wipes available to use on equipment in the gym, which we advise using before and after using the gym. Volunteers/Staff will be increasing cleaning in high traffic areas of the centre too.

Please look out for updates on the situation in the coming weeks.
