Just a quick reminder about parking to people who use the centre on Tuesday evenings- It’s a particularly busy time at PLC, as we have the popular classes Clubbercise, boogie bounce and the gym open too. Also at the same time Penistone Footpath Runners use the centre to register runners for their winter handicap.
We are delighted to welcome all these people to the centre and are really glad to be useful to the community for these events. Obviously these busy periods bring in much needed revenue for the centre as well- which when we are trying to fund our refurbishment, is vitally important.
We politely ask that you try to access the centre on foot at these busy times if possible, or car share if you can. As you know, parking at the centre is currently limited (though we hope to address this as part of the refurbishment plans) and we have received complaints from local residents about parking on footpaths and on the bend of Thurlstone Road. If you are driving to the centre, and are unable to park in the car park- please try to find somewhere safe to leave your car and ensure that footpaths are left clear for wheelchairs or buggies.
