New Tai Chi class

30/01/2017 by Rachel Gibbons 2 Comments

Do you want to improve your balance, flexibility and posture? Tai chi classes are starting every Thursday 7-8pm from 9th February in the small room.

These classes are aimed at adults and the first two are free – just turn up. After this we ask that you book by contacting Natalie on 07535002987, as places are limited to 10. Regular classes will be £5 each.

Tai chi classes will be run by Zheng Wu. He has been practicing tai chi for 18 years. He learned tai chi from his master Huang Hao in the traditional Chinese manner and is a member of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. He teaches 2 styles; yang style (suitable for beginners) and chen style (a more advanced style). He also teaches meditative breathing exercises called qi gong. Tai chi is known as an ‘internal martial art’. It is a holistic exercise to benefit the mind, body and spirit.

“My classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have learned tai chi before. Everyone is welcome, I look forward to meeting you.”

Changes to Self Defence and Senshi No Ken Budo classes

13/04/2016 by Rachel Gibbons Leave a Comment

James is starting another Senshi No Ken Budo class on Sundays 7-8pm as well as his Monday class from 4:30-5:30pm. These classes are all for adults and children and cost £5.

However, Self defence classes are cancelled from this week, as James is now so busy with his school classes in fencing and other sports in the daytime.

Last week of Summer Sports Camp

12/08/2015 by Simon Town Leave a Comment

There is still time to book children in for a day at the Summer Sports Camp at Penistone Leisure Centre.

This will run again next week, on Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th August, the last week of the holiday. There will be rugby, martial arts, badminton, games, football, table tennis, multisports, roller skating, circuits and much more. The sessions are being coached by Simon and Jamie, who have lots of experience of working with children. The Sports Camps have not been busy so far, but the children have had a great time and are keen to come back for more.

To do something fun before heading back to the classroom, find out more about our Summer Camps.
