This week we have had some new energy efficient windows installed by local firm EcoThermal Design Ltd (you might have seen their conservatory showroom at Bridge End). EcoThermal did us a really good price and have been a pleasure to work with. We’re really pleased with the new windows! So a massive thank you to them.

These windows should mean the centre stays warmer in winter and will mean smaller fuel bills. They were part of the energy efficiency work paid for by the grant we received from Black Stone Edge Community Wind Farm and South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation. This grant also paid for the majority of the work we had done to the roof a few months ago, and also will be paying for energy efficient LED lighting for the main hall. All of these improvements will stack up to make a massive impact on our bills and also our environmental impact.

We’ve still got a little tidying up of the plaster work to do around the windows which was damaged when we removed the metal bars (not by the new windows being installed!) so if anyone has a recommendation for a plasterer for a small job, it would be much appreciated!
