We have lots of opportunities for family fun over the summer holidays here at Penistone Leisure Centre!
We have Public Roller Skating sessions Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun throughout the holidays (Please check and book via our website, as dates/times could be subject to change). (Please note – No Public skate sessions on Fri July 30th or Fri August 27th).
Public Skate sessions are £3 per skater which includes skate hire! The Café will be open for drinks and snacks, so if you don’t feel like skating, why not sit and have a cuppa and a snack whilst the kids burn off some energy!
We have two Nerf Scrimmage sessions for kids aged 5-8 on Friday 23rd July and Friday 6th August at 2:30-4:30pm. Nerf Scrimmage is a fast paced and fun team game with nerf guns and box forts! Can your team capture the flag?! The session is led by our staff and we provide safety goggles etc. You can either bring your own nerf gun, or hire one of ours if you don’t have your own. If these sessions are busy, we will add more dates through the holidays! Book online via our website now!
We have Skate ‘Crash Courses’ and Skating Skills lessons from Penistone Skate School so why not learn to skate with a little help this summer!
We have private hire badminton, table tennis, skating and sports available all summer please check our website, by clicking on the activity you’d like to do and the date for available times!
SMASH IT! Our Teens Boxing session will run throughout the summer holidays on Tuesdays at 3:30-4:30pm too!

Excited to announce that we are starting a new session for young people aged 11-16. ‘Smash It!’ is a boxing based fitness class after school on Tuesdays at 3:30-4:30pm, starting on Tuesday 29th June.
The session is led by Leigh Helliwell, who is a level 2 qualified England Boxing Coach.
This fun session will allow you to push your limits, get fitter and gain confidence!
Places must be booked online due to limits on numbers. Session costs £4 or discounted rates of £3 are available, if you are entitled to free school meals.
Please help us to get word out about this new session, by sharing it with anyone you think may benefit!

A fun class for young people aged 11-16, this boxing based workout will increase fitness and confidence!
Please complete the PAR-Q form (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) at the bottom of this product for your child the first time you book. Additional children will need to be added one at a time, so we have a PAR-Q for each child.
After this, you will be granted a free of charge …
The Summer Holiday is nearly here and bookings are open for all of our holiday activities.
Leigh
is running kids/teens Boxing Skills and Get Active sessions from 10am-12 every Tuesday for 10-15yr olds. She is a fully qualified ABA level 2 boxing coach as well as competition boxer – in 2012 she become Yorkshire champion in her category and came second in the national championships. She will be passing on some of her skills and techniques to young people in these sessions. Boxing costs £8 for 2hrs. You can just turn up, but even better is to book by calling Leigh on 07979 006402.
Claire is running kids Boogie Bounce, a fun session on mini trampolines with disco lights and music. It is on Fridays from 11-11:40am from 5th August. Kids Boogie Bounce is suitable for age 6 years and above and costs £4. Please phone Claire on 07974 178953 for enquiries or to book.
Ruth and Jude are running their popular Art Explosion day again this holiday – this time with a beach theme. Art Explosion is a one-off on Tuesday 30th August, so book early by calling Ruth on 07970 109161. It runs from 9:30am-1:30pm and is £13 for 4hrs including a lunch break – please bring a pack-up. Art Explosion is for children aged 6-12yrs and there are a maximum of 20 places.
Rachel and Davy are running Skating Lessons on the first 3 Wednesdays of the holiday (20th, 27th July, 3rd August) to get you skating in time for all the public sessions over the summer. The session is for beginners who want to learn how to skate forwards, stop and go round corners – and also for intermediate skaters who can already get around on skates but want to learn some new skills. Skating lessons cost £6 and are from 11:30am-1:30pm, including a lunch break – please bring a pack-up. Phone Rachel to book on 0794 7991727.
