Bike Library

We’ve had some glorious weather these last few days and living in such a beautiful place, it’s perfect for cycling!

Want to have a go, but no bike? Or is yours rusty or outdated? Visiting the area and looking for things to do? Then visit Penistone Bike Library!

What is a bike library? Well it’s the same as a library, library, except you can borrow bikes not books! We have a huge range of bikes available to borrow from Penistone Leisure Centre.

All you need to do to get cycling, is phone Pete on 07397 288 043 or email bikelibrary@penistoneleisurecentre.org.uk

You can arrange to meet Pete at the Leisure Centre (Saturdays mornings are usually a good time) to be fitted for your Bike and get pedalling!

Did you know we operate a bike library from Penistone Leisure Centre? It’s like bike hire, but better… You can hire a bike for longer, and it’s FREE!

Want to get back into cycling but not sure you’ll cycle enough to buy an expensive bike? Visiting the area and need a way to get around? Want to try your child on the next size of bike? Then come and see us and we’ll fit you with a bike. We have a wide variety of bikes available, from first bikes through to adults road bikes and mountain bikes…

Bikes can be collected and returned during public skating sessions at weekends on Saturdays 12-2pm and Sundays 10am-12pm. Just contact Pete on 07397 288 043 to arrange to collect a bike. You’ll need to bring along some ID and fill in a form with your details and then you can borrow a bike for up to 3 weeks.If you then want to borrow it for longer, you would then need to contact Pete to ‘renew’ your bike hire, just like a library! The Bike Library is open from June 1st to October 31st.

So, no excuse not to get cycling now! We have such beautiful countryside around us, why not explore it on two wheels…
