Refurbishment news – can you help us make the next step?

October 25, 2018 Leave a Comment

There’s great news about our refurbishment and you could be part of it.

So far we have applied to two funding pots and we have already had our expression of interest approved on one of them. This will be for £136,000 if we get it.

That means the funders (EPIP) are interested in the project and want to know more. It’s no guarantee of the money, but it’s a very positive step.

We’ve also applied to the Blackstone Edge Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund for £25,000, but are yet to hear back.

Architects are currently drawing up more detailed plans for our refurbishment so we will be able to share these soon and we’re very busy getting everything organised.

All your surveys will be a crucial part of this.

But we can always use more help in taking the centre forward in this project – have you got the right expertise?

If anyone feels like getting involved, please chat to any of the trustees or staff when you’re at the centre as everything helps or contact us through the website or our Facebook page.

There are lots more funding applications that need doing, financial experience is needed to help with budgeting and there is all sorts of background work to do.

It’s going to be a brilliant project to be involved in.

We already have great support from our volunteers who make things happen every day – could you add your expertise to the pot and help the centre become even better?
