Recruiting another party staff member

07/07/2016 by Rachel Gibbons Leave a Comment

Our parties at Penistone Leisure Centre are hugely popular, with 4 bookings most weekends. Since April, each party has had a paid staff member to set up, hand out skates, be the first aider and ensure everything runs smoothly. This seems to have been a popular move with parents, who are more able to relax and enjoy the party.

Due to our success, we now need to add one or two more people to our pool of party staff. The rate of pay is the adult national living wage – we believe people should have equal pay for the same work, so teenagers are not on a reduced wage. This is a zero hours contract and you will be on a rota to work as and when needed – we currently meet up every month or two with all the staff to decide which shifts each person can work. Each party is 3hrs – 1/2hr to set up, 2hrs for the party and 1/2hr to clean and tidy at the end.

Party staff need to be 16 or over and to be responsible and able to work independently as they will be the only staff member present during the party. They will need to be able to cope with emergencies and also be friendly and approachable when dealing with adults and children. They will need to be a first aider or be willing to go on a first aid course and to have a DBS check done. Priority will be given to current volunteers applying for this job.

To discuss this further please phone Rachel on 07341 300259.
