POP Pilates changes

October 10, 2016 Leave a Comment

Pop Pilates classMichaela’s Monday morning session has now changed from 8:30am to 9am at the request of attendees who found that a little too early! She is hoping that time will suit other people better as well and hopes to see you down there.

Some more info about POP Pilates from Michaela for those of you still wondering:

What is Pop Pilates?

POP Pilates is an incredible fusion of ab-chiselling and total body defining moves choreographed to your favourite Top 40 hits. This intense, mat based workout challenges students to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next, developing a rock solid core while leaving no muscle untouched. This format takes classical Pilates to the next level like you’ve never seen before.

How is POP Pilates different than Pilates?

While POP Pilates moves all originate from classical Pilates, the class design, relationship with music, sequencing and reps differ from reformer classes and traditional mat classes. The fundamentals of breathing, core engagement and powerhouse-based movements are shared, however the emphasis on moving to the beat of pop music is what makes POP Pilates so unique. Participants love that each 55min class is like a ‘dance on the mat’.

POP Pilates at Penistone Leisure Centre – Michaela

I am the only certified POP Pilates instructor in England, I love everything fitness and am currently a trainee English teacher.

Classes are in the small ‘party room’ which is through the main hall. I would prefer it if people would book in (please ring or text 07932415693), but people can just turn up as well .

Classes are £5
