Pictures and Thank Yous from the Gym Re-Opening

08/02/2018 by Frances Greenwood Leave a Comment

Last Friday we held the official reopening of the Gym at Penistone Leisure Centre. It’s amazing looking at the photographs, how far we’ve come…

From this…

To this!

There are always so many ‘Thank yous!’ to say in an organisation like this, and that’s what the evening was all about!

Mayor Roger Hinchliffe cut the ribbon for us, and said a few words in recognition of the hard work of all the Trustees, Volunteers and Donors.

Trustees Rachel, Amanda and Karl then presented Andy Cudworth (Architect who Project Managed the work, and saved us more than 50% on the initial quote from Rentokil!) Gary Wainwright (IMS South Yorkshire Ltd- provided the flooring at cost price) Ian Owen (Defender Security– has done all our CCTV for cost price) with a small token of our appreciation. Sadly Josh and the guys from Bridge End Builders weren’t able to join us, but we really appreciate the time/skill they donated by decorating the space for us!

Below you can see some photographs from the event and a picture of the plaque we have put up to acknowlege peoples contributions that made reopening the gym possible.

Also a big ‘Thank you!’ to Andy at Simply Signs of Penistone for producing and then donating the plaque! We can heartily recommend Simply Signs, as Andy did our outdoor signage too!
