Learn to skate better

August 30, 2018 by Rachel Gibbons 2 Comments

Have you been along to skating over the summer? Seen other people going backwards, spinning around, jumping or stopping easily? Or maybe you’ve struggled to get started.

We now have inline skating lessons at each level on Saturday and a mixed class on Sunday as well as an adults-only class on Thursdays.

Saturdays 9-10am Beginners

Practice falling safely and getting back up again. Learn to skate, stop and turn corners and feel more confident on wheels.

Saturdays 10-11am Intermediate

For those who want to flow better on skates, becoming more in control and balanced. Learn spin stops, parallel turns and backwards as well as how to skate faster.

Saturdays 11am-12 Advanced

For people who want to challenge themselves to do harder skills and want to feel like a pro on skates. Learn to turn backwards to forwards (mohawk), do crossovers for speed round corners, jump, do fast backwards stops like the powerslide and slalom around cones.

Sunday 6-7pm Mixed

A mixed class, much like the holiday sessions, where we take beginner, intermediate and advanced skaters. The class will be learning skills at different levels according to ability, and as usual there will be 2 coaches, Rachel and Davy, for different groups.

Thursday 8:15-9:15pm Adults only

This is on the first two Thursdays of the month at 8:15pm and costs £5 per time. Adults can start at any level and we focus on whichever skills people want to learn.

More Info

The weekend lessons are £22 for a block of 6 consecutive weeks from 8/9th September. Skates, pads and helmets are included although you can bring your own if you wish as long as they have rubber wheels and are inline (blades). See our skate guide for further information on buying skates.

We take children from age 5 and adults of any age – parents are very welcome to skate with their children.

Booking is essential as we limit classes to 15 people and they do get full. For any enquiries or to book, call or text Rachel on 0794 7991727

Hi. I have seen an advert for “learn to skate better”. This is something my 5 year old daughter Elissa would be interested in. However she can only attend on the Sunday session. Would it be possible to book her in for the six lessons? She has her own inline skates but isn’t confident in them as yet.
Please could you e-mail me at [email protected]. Thank you.
