Now we have a defibrillator on site which is publicly available, would you like to know how to use it in an emergency? Would it also be useful to have a wider range of first aid skills? We have booked another day of ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’, which includes the use of the defibrillator we have at the centre. This is a recognised qualification which leads to a certificate and can be used for work, volunteering or so you could help friends and family in an emergency.
The course has been booked for Sunday 27th November from 8:30am-3pm. As before, this will be available free for Penistone Leisure Centre volunteers and will cost £40 for any other local people who wish to attend. It will include free lunch and drinks for everyone. We welcome new volunteers in exchange for a free first aid course!
Covered in the day is resuscitation (including the defibrillator), recovery position, choking, bleeding, burns and shock. The course is run by Jim Moll from Ecclesall first aid, who has run the course twice before at Penistone Leisure Centre.
