We need to know what you want and need at the leisure centre as part of our £300,000 refurbishment whether you’re a gym user, skater, party-goer, volunteer, or join in exercise classes
Make your voice heard by returning the questionnaire that has been sent out to 7,500 questionnaire asking what people would like to see in the revamped leisure centre and a host of other questions about what activities you already do and would like to do. Your answers will help us make the best choices in what we put into the new look centre.
Although the surveys came with the local Liberal Democrats newsletter, it is just for the centre (but thanks to the Lib Dems for their help getting it to you).
Your answers will help the centre trustees put together bids to make using the centre a better experience. Among our plans are better toilets and changing facilities, a bigger kitchen and café, with viewing facilities for sports hall sessions and lots more improvements.
You can take a look at current plans in the reception area at the centre. Some structural and practical things must be done, like work on the roof. But with your information the future activities at the centre can be organised around what local people want and need – such as groups for older residents and parent and toddler activities, or more sessions for teenagers.
Even if you haven’t received as survey in the post we would still like to hear from you – there is a limit to how far we can distribute the survey physically but the online version is on our website.
Get your surveys in before the end of the month to really make your voice count towards what happens here at the centre.
Fill out your survey and either post it back to us, deliver it by hand to the centre on Thurlstone Road, or submit a survey online here and it will come back to us digitally.
The leisure centre is a great place run by a great bunch of people, however we have been asking for a mirror in the ladies toilets for so long now … hopefully someone might listen.
Regarding the funding I think the main hall requires a proper heating system that doesn’t break every winter.
Thanks for those comments, you’re right, a mirror has been on the to do list for a long time, but it’s been a bit overtaken by the refurbishment plans. There will definitely be mirrors then!
After last winter, you’ll have seen we put in the second hall heater as back-up and for a quicker heat-up. So it should never get as bad as it did last year.
Have you filled in the full survey? It would be great to hear all your views.
Thanks,
Rachel
I thought this was the survey xx
This is a post encouraging people to do the survey. The survey is here: https://www.penistoneleisurecentre.org.uk/leisure-survey/
But even if you don’t fill in the whole survey we’ll add these comments to it.
Thanks!
Thanks will do xx
