We have achieved a huge amount with a tiny team of dedicated trustees and staff and a large team of volunteers. It’s now time for the next stage, and we are recruiting a Centre Manager to take us forwards.
Penistone Leisure Centre has recently undergone a major refurbishment, which allows us to start new activities and involve a wider range of people. The world has also changed over the last year, and we need to ensure we change and develop in ways which increase the health and wellbeing of all local people.
Our ideal Centre Manager will be experienced in business operations, finance and managing people and buildings. They will be a thoughtful leader and confident decision-maker, so they can implement the changes ahead and ensure we grow sustainably.
Would you like to make a difference to your community and join our friendly team?

Sporting Penistone is led by the community for the community. We have a volunteer Trustee board who set the direction of the charity, 2 permanent staff, 5 casual staff and around 40 volunteers. We are friendly and inclusive, and want to welcome a new manager who can continue to motivate the whole team.
The Centre Manager is a permanent post, starting as soon as possible. The wage is £24,570 p/a, full time (35hrs/wk). Hours are flexible, to be arranged by mutual agreement, but will include some evenings and/or weekends, ‘on call’ and the possibility of some home working.
