Join us this festive season for a family friendly Christmas skating party.

There will be skating games, a disco, party food and a visit and gift from our super special guest!

This years Christmas Party is on Sunday 17th December 2 – 4pm.

  • Kids £9 each, including a gift from Santa, Skates and Party food.
  • Adults £8 each, you can enjoy the party food and skate but receive no gift from Santa
  • Spectator only Free, no food, skates or gift

Tickets are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment – get your tickets here – book xmas skate party tickets

macrame workshop

Nov 17th – Macrame with Emily from LOL Productions

You will be taught a range of macrame knots and they can be used to make your own plant hangers and decorations plus a beautiful macrame keyring they can gift for Christmas or keep for themselves. All materials provided. I’ve also teamed up with Betty Hugh Plants to have some hangers, pots and plants for people to buy during the evening.
2hr workshop for £10pp 

starts 6pm on Friday 17th – meet in our studio space @thehubcommunitycafe

At last!  The flock has arrived!

The project is rooted in the heritage of Penistone, where sheep sales have been held for hundreds of years, while the whitefaced woodland breed are also known as Penistone sheep.

The flock includes:

  • A sheep clutching a carton of popcorn, who stands outside the Penistone Paramount Cinema on Shrewsbury Road
  • A cycling sheep on the Trans-Pennine Trail at Penistone Showground
  • A football kit-wearing sheep at Penistone Church Football Club on Church View Road
  • A travelling sheep with a suitcase near Penistone Railway Station off Eastfield Avenue
  • A bookworm sheep outside Penistone Library on High Street
  • A roller-skating sheep at Penistone Leisure Centre on Thurlstone Road
  • Five benches in the form of “grazing” sheep – two outside the Market Hall and three at the playground off Schole Avenue

If you are going round the trail, save our our flock ’til last and treat yourself to a cuppa or some delicious grub at our @thehubcommunitycafe. Open – Tuesday , Friday 9am – 4pm or a Saturday 9am -1pm.

Walk through Autumn

Whether you’re new to walking or looking to get back into it, Walk Through Autumn provides an excellent starting point. Anyone can join any of the activities. The session is FREE and we are going to do some Autumnal crafting in the cafe afterwards with a chance to purchase a warm cuppa.

Our ‘Local Pop-up Makers Market’ will take place in The Hub Community Cafe @ Penistone Leisure Centre on Saturday 4th November from 9am – 12noon.

We will have our 10 local crafters and makers who currently make use of our Rent a Crate space, extending their offering and their makes to you! There will be an extended range of gifts and goodies available to buy, alongside some of our local makers on site crafting away and available to chat to. Watch them make and chat to them about why and how they create such wonderful wares.
