We’re just testing out different layouts as part of the development of the new and improved website and it accidentally got included. So don’t worry, we don’t have a ‘People Engineer’ joining the team. It’s just the weird and wonderful imaginings of the people who make placeholder text for these things. Hopefully you’ll like the new layout of the site when it’s all up and running – if you look in the meantime, you’ll see it’s still a work in progress!
Do the kids (and adults!) in your house need to burn off some energy? More times are now available on our private hire page for hiring the main hall, and also the smaller room.
The main hall is good for skating, badminton, go karts, hoverboards, scooters, football, or anything else you want to try in a big space.
The smaller room is good for table tennis, or for younger children to have a go at skating or bring ride on toys or scooters. The floor is rubber, which will stop skates running away with you, and so is great for beginners.
These sessions have been selling fast, so some extra volunteers have taken time off from their Christmas break to open up more times.
We are having a few issues with the website, so if you’re having problems booking, please either message us on facebook or text Rachel on 07947991727.
Are you stuck for something to do on Christmas morning? A few of us from Penistone Leisure Centre will be setting off from the centre in groups of 6 for a friendly (socially distanced) walk and chat.
Everyone is welcome, we’ll group people for a longer or shorter walk if needed. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome too. We’ll be there from 9:45am and aim to set off at 10.
You can let us know you are coming by emailing [email protected]stoneleisurecentre.org.uk or messaging us on facebook, which will help us to plan numbers. But you can also turn up on the morning.
Please note that none of us are walk leaders, so this is not an officially organised event. You will be responsible for your own safety. We will collect names and phone numbers though for test and trace.
You can now book your weekly gym pass, which entitles you to one gym session per day, each day we are open. This is currently Monday to Friday 6-8pm and Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-12. We will be opening at weekends and for further hours soon.
The cardio room is also nearly ready to open, and will be open for longer hours than the main gym.
Weekly Gym Pass
You will be able to book sessions for a week from Monday
Please only book one session per day and read our Covid guidelines.
We are still working on making a monthly pass available, which will be at the same price as before: £22.50 per month. However, this is proving difficult with our new online booking system.
You can now book a public skating session on Monday or Tuesday – last chance before it’s back to school! These are at 10:30am and 12:30pm both days again. There won’t be skating restarting at weekends for a few weeks, as there are volunteers in finishing off the refurbishment. So this is your last chance for a little while.

You can also book the hall for private hire, to do skating, badminton or table tennis on a few afternoons and evenings:
