On Sunday, the Leisure Centre played host to the Annual Hill Race! The tough route was completed by 82 Runners and raised a FANTASTIC £698 which goes directly to the Leisure Centre to improve facilities!
The weather was kind and everyone was still smiling at the end of the race, so there was a fantastic atmosphere on the day.
A huge ‘thank you!’ to everyone who ran on the day, to the volunteers and marshalls who kept them on route, to the local businesses who donated raffle prizes and to Woodhead Mountain Rescue who provided First Aid support (though luckily, nobody needed them!)
Of course, an extra special ‘Thank you!’ goes out to Annie and Shaun who organise the race and fundraiser, putting in an enormous amount of effort! You really are brilliant!
Hot food sales on the day raised an additional £130, making the grand total of the day £828.

And a massive thanks to Fran and family as well, who made and served pulled pork or halloumi hot sandwiches to all the runners at the end and made us that additional money! Delicious food and happy people, it was much appreciated as ever. And more massive thanks to all the people Fran has already thanked as well!
