I started my yoga practice around fifteen years ago and explored many different methods until I settled on Ashtanga Yoga as my primary practice, studying with Radha and Pierre at Yoga Plus in Crete. I completed my teacher training with Joey Miles and Anna Ashby at Tri-Yoga in London in 2011 and decided to leave a 20 year career in marketing to pass on the gift of yoga. Since then have continued my studies with some of the world’s most renowned teachers including David Swenson and Radha and Prem Carlisi at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Bali. In 2012 I travelled to Mysore in India, the source of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and spent three months studying with Sharath Jois at The Ashtanga Yoga Institute.
I have taught in many locations around the world as well as at Twisted Yoga in London with my dear friend Nighean Hardie. I grew up in Barnsley but have been on the move for 27 years, returning to Penistone in June 2015. As well as teaching yoga I’m currently in the process of re-building a house. Exciting times!
My yoga teaching is inspired by a passion for holistic well-being in general and I have spent a number of Summer seasons working as a vegetarian and vegan chef at Yoga Plus in Crete. Last year I completed a raw food chef certification with The Seeds of Life in Bali. I also teach ‘Yoga Lifestyle’ workshops that include modules in nutrition as well as yoga, meditation and sometimes dance. Look out for the workshop schedule in the Spring.
