We have just spent the Easter raffle money, plus a bit more, on lots of new sets of skating pads. Please ask for pads and a helmet when you get your skates to avoid those bumps and enjoy your skating even more! We have from XXS for 3-7 year olds up to L for adults.
There will be a drop-in chat table at the skating session this Sunday (12-2pm) where we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about:
- Parties – we are going to start paying people to staff them. What should a party cost?
- Holiday skating – how did it go, what do people want at May Bank half term and over the summer?
- Are you happy as a skating volunteer (if you are one)?
- Any comments or suggestions on skating sessions or parties.
Come over to talk to me in the café and pick any or all of these topics. If you won’t be there on Sunday but would like to tell us your thoughts, please catch me (Rachel) in another session or email us.
A team from Penistone Leisure Centre is going to the Total Warrior event in the Lake District in August. This is a 10km run with 30 obstacles, most of them involving mud, water, ice, fire and huge challenges to climb, balance or drag yourself through. You will either think that sounds great or ridiculous… to the first group – Would you like to join us?
The whole team is not super fit by any means (although some are!), but are getting training in at Warrior Fitness with Jamie on Fridays from 6:15-7:15pm (except this Friday 15th 7-8pm). If you have any questions or to join the team please contact Jamie by email or on 07544 113616.
There were skating sessions every day over Easter and we couldn’t have done it without all our Skating Volunteers – Jude, Oliver, Natalie, Jenny, Claire, Lisa, Lucy, Nikki, Jackie, Melissa, Kirsty, Merry, Kay, Simon – and especially Ron who spent half of his Easter at the Centre! A huge thanks to all of you – please accept this virtual bouquet from us!
James is starting another Senshi No Ken Budo class on Sundays 7-8pm as well as his Monday class from 4:30-5:30pm. These classes are all for adults and children and cost £5.
However, Self defence classes are cancelled from this week, as James is now so busy with his school classes in fencing and other sports in the daytime.
